This Henry's Law constant indicates that diemthoate is expected to be essentially nonvolatile from water surfaces(2). After 6 days, average dimethoate losses due to evaporation from uncovered soil columns were 40.4, 32.3, 23.0, and 24.9% in sand, sandy clay loam, loam, and clay loam, respectively; dimethoate losses were directly proportional to water losses(3). Dimethoate is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon its vapor pressure(1). The vaporization index for dimethoate was estimated to be 0.2-3 kg/ha/yr, or more(4).
