1,2-Propanediol Dinitrate

A) TOXICITY: The minimum toxic dose of nitrite is extremely variable; the assessment of the severity of toxicity should be based on clinical findings in the majority of cases. The lowest reported lethal dose of oral sodium nitrite was a 1 g ingestion prior to death in a 17-year-old girl. THERAPEUTIC AND NORMAL DOSE RANGE: The acceptable daily intake of dietary nitrites (excluding infants under 6 months of age) is 0.4 mg/kg.
