Range of ToxicityA) TOXICITY: Severe leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, and a hemorrhagic diathesis with subsequent delayed bleeding may develop following total doses higher than 0.4 mg/kg for a single course. B) THERAPEUTIC DOSES: ADULTS: A total IV dose of 0.4 mg/kg per course as a single dose or in divided doses of 0.1 to 0.2 mg/kg/day. Usual intracavitary injection is 0.4 mg/kg or 0.2 mg/kg by intrapericardial route. Doses reported in the literature can vary widely. CHILDREN: The safety and effectiveness of mechlorethamine have not been established in pediatric patients. |
