Plague

Transmission

The disease is transmitted from infected fleas - either from rodents to humans, from dogs or cats to humans, or from person to person - and by handling tissues of infected animals. In the most likely BW scenario, plague would be spread via aerosol. A rapidly person-to-person spread of fulminant pneumonia would occur. Cat bites or scratches may also transmit plague.
